BIG BEAR LAKE — November 4, 2026. Early City Council results in Big Bear Lake are measured in dozens of votes. The county reported all election-night precincts for districts 2, 3 and 4, but that does not mean the canvass is complete.

Three separate districts

District 2: Kara Flietstra received 105 votes (56.45%) and Sonia Ibarra 81 (43.55%). Four of four precincts were listed as reporting.

District 3: Ernie Mendoza received 134 votes (57.51%), while Michael Beveridge received 99 (42.49%). Four of four precincts were listed.

District 4: Cody Lewis received 142 votes (58.20%) to Suzy Gilleon’s 101 (41.39%). The one precinct was listed as reported, with one unresolved write-in vote.

Why the early count is not a certification

Precinct reporting concerns election-night tabulation. Qualified mail ballots, conditional registration and provisional votes may still be checked after November 3. In a small district, even a modest number of additional votes could change a margin. Residents should not confuse the candidate ranking in the midnight report with official election results.
